Noah's Monkeys

Double the Monkeys, Double the Fun

A stuffed monkey before and after restoration of fur and missing hair.
Restoration of Monkey 1

Believe it or not this is the same monkey, before and after the restoration process.

Restoring Mr. Monkey to this condition was possible because much of the original fur remained.

It was the painstaking combing and brushing fur restoration that revealed more fur existed than was originally apparent.

After a soapy bath and thorough cleaning, he was ready for monkey business once again!

Extensive Repair Monkey 2

This little guy saw his share of love and cuddling - he was loved down to his stuffing.

His condition

There were numerous holes in the body's fabric and seams.

The fur was twisted and matted.

Old patches tearing the edges of the original fabric.

There was a lack of existing fur to restore.

Considerations included:

A lack of availability of matching fabric and fur.

The owner wanted the monkey to remain in its original shape without a lot of stuffing added.

The owner gave us permission to use coordinating fur in the repair process.

The Process
A bubble bath to remove years of dirt and dust.

First, the all-important bubble bath. Double bubble in this case!

A happy monkey in his towel after his bath.

Happy bath boy.
